Defibrillators at events

What if a heart doesn't collapse out of love and it gets out of sync in the middle of a party or festival?

Last night no DJ saved my life

Those who party, visit stadiums and festivals want to be exuberant and happy, clubbing, raving, head banging and dancing, and are far away from any thoughts of accidents or illness. But with love, peace and happiness.

This makes a well-equipped rescue system all the more important. Placed as centrally and visibly as possible. The bigger the event, the more rescue facilities are needed - and a defibrillator belongs in the set. Alcohol and drugs are also controlled for safety, as are central places, entrances and streets.

There were unfortunately people who lost their lives in the midst of the exuberant hustle and bustle during the long party and festival summer of 2019. Not only, but also because there was no defibrillator on site. If in Switzerland one person dies from cardiac arrest in each of the daily 24 hours because the rescue chain did not work, that is 24 too many. On average, a vital 12 minutes pass before the ambulance arrives. However, it is the life-critical first few minutes that keep a person in cardiac arrest alive without consequential damage. The emergency number 144 applies in every emergency. But the first responder network, i.e. trained first aiders, must also be activated. It would be so simple: everyone, really every party-goer and festival-goer can help. With pumps for cardiac massage and fetching help so that someone else can fetch the nearest defibrillator.

Because this life-saving surge deserves a box seat at every event and in every club, should be on the main stage and as a headliner in the line-up of an organiser.
