The Psychiatric University Hospital Zurich provides basic psychiatric care for 500,000 inhabitants in the city and region of Zurich on behalf of the Health Department of the Canton of Zurich. It also has a special mandate in the supraregional psychiatric treatment of patients and in forensics. On the other hand, it performs tasks for the University of Zurich, such as within university teaching and research, but also in education, further education and training in the field of psychiatry.
