World Resuscitation Day
This year there will again be an international World Restart a Heart Day on 16.10.2020 with the theme "Your two hands can save a life".
Already in spring 2012, at the suggestion of the European Resuscitation Council (ERC) to increase lay resuscitation in the European Parliament, a declaration to introduce the "European Restart a Heart Day" was signed by more than 50% of the MEPs. The European Restart a Heart Day took place for the first time on 16 October 2013 under the motto "KIDS SAVE LIVES" in more than 20 European countries.
The "World Restart a Heart" initiative aims to raise global awareness of the importance of out-of-hospital cardiac arrests. The aim is also to train as many lay people as possible worldwide in resuscitation measures.
